Medical Office Receptionist & Biller
We are currently seeking a Medical Office Receptionist & Biller to help with the organization and running of the daily administrative operations of the practice. This position represents the professional image of our practice to callers and visitors. Applicant must be friendly, mature, and demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow professionally. The ideal candidate is someone looking for a long-term career position with an opportunity for growth.
Necessary skills include:
- Friendly, professional, and articulate phone voice
- Strong communication skills
- Comfortable interacting with clients in person and on the phone
- Ability to diffuse difficult client situations and foster client relationships
- Strong computer skills and familiarity working in Google Workplace
- Experience in computerized scheduling of appointments
- Capable of handling many tasks at once with interruptions
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Comfortable working with a high degree of attention to detail and discretion
- Strong knowledge of insurance billing
- Familiarity with HIPAA and confidentiality regulations
Duties include:
- Performing opening and closing procedures
- Greeting clients and visitors and handling all front desk duties
- Creating client charts, preparing client records and consent forms, and assisting clients with digital paperwork completion
- Scheduling appointments for several clinicians with varying schedules
- Multi-tasking and taking initiative to ensure a well-organized office function
- Handling incoming and outgoing telephone calls with efficiency and compassion
- Processing client referrals from other professionals in the community
- Monitoring and responding to online inquiries
- Handling miscellaneous correspondence
- Verifying patient insurance coverage and eligibility and collecting co-pays and deductibles
- Collaborating with healthcare providers to obtain necessary documentation for claim submission
- Reviewing claims for errors and correcting prior to submission
- Submitting billing data to the appropriate insurance providers
- Receiving EOBs, researching causes for denials, and resubmitting corrected claims
- Processing all remittances (manual and electronic pay) and posting to appropriate accounts
- Invoicing patients and insurance companies for claims or payments
- Tracking and collecting payments from patients for outstanding bills
- Following up on unpaid or denied claims and resolving billing issues
- Staying updated on changes in medical coding guidelines and reimbursement policies
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations
- Performing other duties as assigned
Job Type: Full-time

Clinicians must:
- Be currently licensed to practice in Louisiana as an LPC, LMFT, or LCSW
- Be organized, conscientious, and committed to providing high-quality services to our clients
- Have strong clinical skills in diagnosis, assessment, and treatment
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Be comfortable with electronic records and the use of technology
- Stay up to date with current research and best practices
Clinician will be responsible for:
- Performing on-site clinical counseling services to clients of Hope & Healing Counseling
- Reliable attendance and timely arrival to sessions
- Being properly licensed and abiding by all laws, rules, regulations, and codes of ethics
- Communicating with a client’s treatment team (i.e., PCP, psychiatrist, school, etc.) as necessary
- Completing written records for each client including: intake assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge plans
Required education:
- Master’s or Doctoral Degree in a counseling-related field
Required license or certification:
- LPC, LMFT, or LCSW
