“Healing takes courage, and we all have courage, even if we have to dig a little to find it” – Tori Amos
Erika is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 13 years of experience. She
graduated from Grambling State University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in
Criminal Justice. She graduated in 2009 with a Master of Arts in Counseling from
Dallas Baptist University.
She has worked with individuals (adults and children) with a wide range of concerns
including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting issues, career challenges,
low self-esteem and trauma.
Erika’s therapeutic approach is from a cognitive-behavioral perspective, humanistic,
psychodynamic, and client-centered. Her counseling style encourages curiosity,
creativity, and humility. She believes in creating a safe environment that promotes
empathy and nonjudgment. She believes that honesty is crucial as it
is the foundation for healing and personal growth. It is her desire to help individuals
reach their full potential as human beings and to assist others in finding courage
within.
Courage is a virtue when choosing to do well, especially when most difficult.
Courage is moral strength in the face of danger. Courage gives you the ability to put
aside from fear of failure and taking the first steps. Demonstrating courage is reaching out
