family therapy

There are times when you and your family are going to experience events that may require additional support and guidance to work through. We understand how important your family is and are proud to provide family counseling as an option at our office.
Family counseling is a process where a family works with a licensed counselor in a safe and confidential setting where they are allowed to express their feelings and emotions while exploring how their individual backgrounds, beliefs, thoughts, and behaviors may be affecting their relationship in both positive and negative ways. Our counselors would then assist your family with addressing any immediate concerns, as well as developing strategies for enhancing and nurturing the long-term health and happiness of your family dynamic.
How To Set Up Family Counseling:
- Call us to schedule your initial appointment or schedule an appointment online by following the “Schedule Session” link above. Plan on sessions to last for about an hour.
- You will be asked to provide some initial information to assist us in evaluating if our office is the best option for your treatment.
- You may then be asked to come in for an initial evaluation session with one of our counselors which provides an opportunity for you to build rapport with our counselor, while providing her with some background information about yourself and your reasons for seeking counseling. At this time, our intake counselor is available to answer your questions regarding this service, fees, confidentiality, and expectations for therapy.
- After your first session, as long as you feel we are a good fit for you, you will schedule your next appointment and recurring appointments. Generally, we do have patients come in on a weekly basis to start.
At your second appointment you will begin to work with your counselor towards setting goals for your sessions and developing a treatment plan so you can set your intentions moving forward. Once everything has been defined, your family will be brought into session to join you so we can work as a team to accomplish your objectives.
If you have any questions about if family therapy is the right fit for you, please contact us and we would be happy to discuss this further with you.
