Mary Dyas is a licensed professional counselor who graduated in 2011 from the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and then in 2013 with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Mary has over ten years of experience in the behavioral health field.
Mary has had the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, adults, and the geriatric population. In working with these populations, Mary has been able to provide services to individuals who have developmental disabilities, depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief and loss, and new parenthood, to name a few.
Mary’s therapeutic approach is solution-based and cognitive-behavioral therapy-focused. Mary believes that our thoughts affect our emotions and behaviors and that if we can learn how to manage our thoughts, we can better manage stressors that may happen in our lives. Mary also believes that learning to implement problem-solving techniques into our daily lives may help us to make healthy decisions and choices in life.
The therapeutic relationship is important in the counseling process and is one Mary takes seriously. In working with Mary, you can expect honesty, warmth, and a non-judgmental environment.
